Ronnie’s First Studio Adventure

Some dogs stride confidently into the studio as though they've been posing for portraits their entire lives. Others take a little time to decide whether all the lights, backdrops and camera equipment are quite to their liking. Ronnie was definitely in the second camp.

This handsome gentleman joined us recently for a studio session, a world away from his usual life on a New Forest farm. At six years old, Ronnie is a unique mix of Collie, Whippet and Bedlington Terrier, combining the best traits of all three breeds into one wonderfully gentle soul.

Like many dogs visiting the studio for the first time, Ronnie wasn't entirely convinced by the experience to begin with. The unfamiliar surroundings, bright lights and unusual equipment were all quite different from the open spaces and familiar routines of farm life. Thankfully, he had his devoted Granny by his side, armed with plenty of treats, reassurance and cuddles.

As Ronnie relaxed, his true character began to emerge. Beneath those long flowing locks and soulful eyes was a dog with a calm, thoughtful nature and a quiet curiosity about the world around him. He seemed to take everything in with gentle wonder, carefully observing his surroundings while gradually building confidence.

Once settled, Ronnie rewarded our patience with some truly beautiful portraits. His expressive eyes and wistful gaze created images filled with warmth and character, perfectly capturing the kind and sensitive nature that makes him so special.

By the end of the session, the nervous farm dog who had cautiously entered the studio had transformed into a relaxed and willing model. It was a privilege to spend time with such a gentle giant and to create portraits that captured his adorable personality.

Thank you, Ronnie, for trusting us and reminding us that sometimes the most memorable portraits come from dogs who simply take a little time to find their confidence.
