Senior Dogs at Chesvale Obedience Show

The weekend before last, whilst attending a dog obedience show with my own dogs, I was lucky enough to steal a few impromptu portraits of some beautiful senior souls.

I’m always drawn to photographing different breeds, so I was delighted to meet Tucker, a little black Schipperke who was full of life and more than happy to show off for my camera. Racing through the buttercups like a puppy again, he certainly didn’t let his veteran status slow him down!

Lovely Tula, meanwhile, brought a completely different energy, calm, dignified and serene amongst the flowers, posing beautifully as though she’d down it a hundred times before.

There’s something incredibly special about senior dogs; the joy, wisdom and personality they carry shines through in every photograph.
